Species: Hooded Warbler (Setophaga citrina)
Location: Weston Bend State Park, Missouri, United States
Age: adult     Plumage: alternate/breeding     Activity: perching/standing
Sex: male     Visibility: full body     Quantity: single
Photographer: David Seibel     Date: May 12, 2008
Equipment: Canon EOS-1D Mark II N and Canon 500mm f/4L IS + 1.4x II TC     Megapixels: 4.3

Notes: The lighting was intriguing and challenging by the time I found this bird, and I stood up to my knees in underbrush for several hours as I watched and waited for just the right pose. It was prime habitat for ticks as well as warblers, and I actually contracted Lyme disease in the process of capturing this image.
